Artist's statement

Full Artist's statement

A career in art may take numerous directions. As a professioal artist, I have worked in many areas in order to gain knowledge of materials and techniques.
For many years I worked as an art director and paint specialist for automotive repair and custom facilities. During my employment, I experimented and designed industrial paint applications that eventually would be used for my personal art projects.
I learned to prepare and shape steel for repairing damaged or missing pieces of antique vehicles. Shaping metal has become my primary means of art expression. By combining that with my knowledge of paint as well as other materials, I continue to think and work in expanding directions.
Although I primarily work with objective forms from nature, my lastest design concepts are becoming less objective in nature.
