On Tuesday, November 9th from 6:30-9pm WPA will host a CATALYST VIP Preview Benefit to kick off the opening of the 35th Anniversary exhibition. Please join us for a night of cocktails, delicious food, surprise performances and 35 years of Washington area art.

Washington, DC based multi-disciplinary artist Rogelio Maxwell will be creating a new performance piece “City/Things you can put in your mouth ” on November 17th 2010 at locations throughout the DC area as part of Catalyst the 35th Anniversary Exhibition and celebration of the Washington Project for the Arts.
The day long performance art piece begins at sunrise in front of the National Cathedral, and concludes at sunset, behind the Watergate Hotel/ Kennedy Center, looking over the Potomac River, towards Roosevelt Island. There will be a map on the Catalyst website, which lists the locations in all four quadrants of the city where the public can witness or interact with the artist throughout the day.
Artists and the public can view streaming videos and photos of the action and are welcome to upload their own photos and videos relating to this work to be viewed on the Catalyst website. Participants are asked to either wear or otherwise display the number ’35′ in the images and videos documenting their participation.
The work will celebrate the often profound compelling, even beautiful in everyday acts of ordinary people.
