Artists who received a 2024 Wherewithal Research Grant will share where their inquiries have been taking them over the year-long grant period. This year’s Research grantees are: Adrienne Gaither, Taylor Johnson, Madyha J. Leghari, Sanam, Krista Schlyer, and Jessica Valoris.

This amazing group of DC-based artists are exploring wide ranging questions and conducting important cultural preservation work exploring topics such as poetic inquiry, the inheritance of language, pollution in the Anacostia River, and local histories of enslaved resistance and fugitive practice.
